Similar Logos – Different Industries
Branding is a big part of building a business and apart from choosing the right name, you will need to think of a logo that perfectly engages the audience (who are potential customers). Branding is essential and it needs to be planned perfectly. It needs to be cohesive, relevant, familiar and perfectly captivating.
Sometimes, thinking of a logo can be very difficult. As a shortcut, some people would apply existing logos, sprucing it up to make it more original—and it works quite fine. Perhaps you are thinking of doing the same thing. Perhaps you are thinking of applying an already existing logo for your business. A lot of people do this and it has worked well, consider the following guidelines for this:
- If you are applying the logo of a company from another country, it should be alright for you to use it. Of course, if this company is well-known and the logo is overly familiar, regardless of the location, you should not co there.
- If you are applying the logo of a company from a different industry altogether, it should be no problem. As there is no direct competition between the two companies, the logo should not be an issue—as a matter of fact, everything should be fine.
- If you are applying a logo that is already being used by another company, you can do all kinds of things to make it your own. You can change the colors, you can make apt additions or other improvements. As long as you do not leave the logo quite recognizable, you will be alright.
Now understand this, the logo is just the logo and you should not stress so much about it because there are other more important things for you to concentrate on that is more important.
